"Previous encounters with the new F&T snuffs by Wilsons have been rather disheartening. Everyone knows that the original Santo Domingo - listed in the old Guinness Book of Records as one of the world’s most expensive snuffs - contained tobacco from Cuba instead of Zimbabwe. This offering should therefore be another disappointment. Actually this is very close to the original with that distinctive F&T tarry 'London' tobacco taste, which is complemented by the delicate scent of violet instead of the intense floral reek that mars some of the others. Immediately upon opening the tin a certain olfactory memory, dormant for more than thirty years, was reawakened and transported back in time. Others have expressed praise for this snuff in words beyond my literary abilities. I’ll just add that I believe this is the best of the recreated F&T range with Princes in second place. Well done Wilsons & Co."

"Oh man this is divine just ordered a bunch all different but this my friends is like absolute delicious my fav. I feel like I stepped in to a museum in London around 1888 just so mellow and pure bliss, god can't get enough. If your looking for a time traveler this is it its so relaxing can the scent lasts a half hour"

"A moist, course, black snuff. It seems to be a similar base to the Princes, but with an altogether different scenting. A published list shows this snuff to contain cedar oil, sandalwood oil and absolute violet, but the foremost scent really is the smokey-wood character. Wood scent is very much prominent. To distinguish the individual scents has taken me a lot of practice. I've had this snuff a year now, and only in the last few months have I started to understand and appreciate it. The various scents are usually working as part of a chorus or behind the scent of the tobacco. Every now and then, one of them shines through solo for a moment and then retreats back into the chorus. Absolute Violet, I have learned is not the extract of violet flowers, but of violet leaves. So this is not going to remind you of your favorite violet or floral snuff. This is a more grassy-earthy note. I learned what sandalwood scent was from some more obnoxious sandalwood snuffs. Here, I can detect it, but it is as it should be: subdued and working in harmony with other scents. The cedar scent, of course, is well known to anyone who had a cedar chest, wardrobe, or kept a pet rodent. Cedar is a clean and pleasant scent. Due to the nature of the grind, I find a small snuff spoon to be invaluable in taking this snuff. Pinching it tends to clump it too much and the F&T tubes are hard to pinch from anyway. It makes my nose run quite a bit, but is very long lasting in scent. Multiple spoonfuls are easy to take because its moist and gentle. Easy enough for a beginner to use, but will delight the expert who relishes subtlety and good straight tobacco."
